1st Bump Insult
By HzlGreenEyes » Posted Oct. 21, 2015 2:14pm - 557 views - 11 comments

Ahhh. Today I heard my 1st Baby bump insult. Apparently this cashier's filter was malfunctioning today when she asked me when I was due. I told her my EDD is Feb 12 and her eyes widened and out of her mouth was, "Are you having twins?". Calmly I said, "No, no twins." She continued, " Are you sure?" I say, "Yes, I'm sure." She again continues, "You're carrying a little big." I then look down at my bump and say, "I had a stillborn in February and I got pregnant again right away." Her face dropped and she apologized.

I mean, as a woman... no wait, as a Mother who has been through this, what makes you feel the need to say something stupid like that. I get it and believe me, I know I am not large by any means. I am right where I need to be. I feel better knowing my lil guy is growing thus my belly is growing. After the nightmare I went through last time and I knew something was wrong because my Baby bump didn't grow past 32 cm I knew I was small for how far along I was.

But, come on now... if you asked if it was twins and the answer was "no" don't proceed to ask "are you sure?" People are so Stupid these days.

People are so stupid. Seriously, I can't get over how dumb people are whether it's talking about baby bumps or not. Not sure how you kept your cool like that but power to ya!

I agree. People have no filter these days. Every woman's body is different, and every pregnancy is different. You couldn't even hardly tell I was pregnant with my first two the day I delivered. This pregnancy, I still have 13 weeks to go and people are constantly making comments and asking if I'm about to pop. Why can't society just accept that there is no standard for each pregnancy or belly bump size?

I'm so sorry you had to hear that. People can be so mean, uncaring, and unthinking sometimes.
