Mile Marker - 24 weeks 60% Done
By HzlGreenEyes » Posted Oct. 23, 2015 11:46am - 443 views - 10 comments

I woke up this morning with Mathew bouncing around... a huge sigh of relief to be at 24 weeks. I have finally allowed myself to relax quite a bit since I am now at the point that if I go into early labor or if they need to induce me, Mathew will have a better chance of survival with medical intervention. Yes, I feared the worst since the beginning when I got a phone call from my Nurse practitioner concerned with the lower levels of HCG at 3w5d. She expected the worst at that point, but my lil guy grew and grew and my HCG levels doubled every 31 - 36 hours all the way up to 7 weeks (which was my last draw). Those doubling times where amazing! To seeing him for the 1st time at 7w5d crying my eyes out because I saw the flicker of his heart!
Making it to 20w5d to go to my 1st perinatoligist appointment and finding out that all my fears can be brushed aside because everything that needed to grow and complete have done so in my little guy's body and the placenta. Here I am today... feeling Mathew as I sit here typing this. Life is a miracle that no one should take for granted. There are blessings all around us, be thankful!

24 weeks is definitely a relief for all of us. It's still not over.. All the worrying and such... But at least we hit that week of viability. It seems like once you get to week 24, almost everything seems like a milestone. Lol!
