9 DAYS!
By emmapeal9 » Posted Feb. 24, 2014 5:16pm - 328 views - 10 comments

We've got 9 more days until we get to find out whether Peep has a P or a V.

NINE. EXCRUCIATING. DAYS.

I have a terrible fear my kid will refuse to cooperate (like it did with the doppler last time) and we won't be able to see what's going on in there. I am the least patient person I know, while having this fear might be irrational, I will lose my shit if it becomes a reality. (Parent of the year - I know).

Having our gender reveal this close is also bringing names to the forefront. I haven't sold DH on some, but I have on others. We want to incorporate and honor family with middle names. Naming a PERSON is such a responsibility. Often I think we'll just have to see what Peep looks like when he/she arrives. Maybe she looks like a Sally instead of Mary or Joe instead of Steve.
Maybe you ladies can weigh in.
Here's what DH and I agree on so far:

BOY names -
Holden Dean (Dean is my father's middle name and DH really likes it)
Torin Dean (I adore the name Torin - strong, Irish, and there's a young pro-skier with the name so I think its kinda badass)

GIRL names -
Finley Porter (Porter is DH's stepfather's last name. He raised DH from 7 since his bio-dad is not in the picture)
Emerson Charlotte (I'm in love with Emerson for a girl, but her nickname would be the same as mine. I'm Emily - EVERYONE calls me Em - even at work).

I want my kids to have strong distinctive names that aren't so strange they'll lack professionalism in their adult lives. I also hope there aren't 6 other kids in their class with the same name.

Feel free to give thoughts. Ultimately we'll do what we feel, but I like to hear other opinions and decide if those thoughts affect my inclination or not. :)

Thanks Jenna! I'm a little scared this poor kid's nickname will be "Peep". We have both families calling it that right now.

But Torin means Chief - that's a great nickname. ;)
And Fin is CUTE for a little lady's nickname.

Thanks for your input!

I LOOOOVE Finley! It's so beautiful and unique! For boy, I think Torin is awesome too. I love Irish names!
