Ear Prognosis

Oh man I was not happy at my appointment. When I showed up at 12:15 for my 12:30 appointment, there was one other guy there. Then another guy came in 10 minutes after me. We sat there for an hour waiting before they finally called us back. People kept showing up and they were calling them back, but it took an hour for us to get in our room. Then we had to wait for the doctor. And on top of that Nathan was bouncing off the walls and would not settle down.
But once the doctor came in things went swiftly. After everything that I told him about the pain yesterday and drainage and the fact that it wasn't as painful today but still draining, he thought I had ruptured my ear drum. When he looked he said that there is definitely fluid backed up and seeping through but that there was no rupture or infection. But if I hadn't come in, chances are the fluid would have kept building up and it would have ruptured and then gotten infected. He said that because I've been dealing with this for over a year and it hasn't responded to treatment, he wanted to refer me to an ENT. He also gave me a steroid shot in the butt to help the swelling in my sinuses go down and give me at least a little bit of relief. So Wednesday when I have my OB appointment, I have to go to the referrals office and schedule an appointment to get things checked out. Hopefully they think of something that will fix this permanently such as tubes or removal of my adnoids. But I'm looking forward to having some relief.
