I am so frustrated!

So since we got our play pen/bassinet, we've been keeping it in our room (as well as the rest of the baby stuff until we can wash the clothes and set up the nursery) and I've been trying to keep the bed room door shut to keep the cats out so they don't pee all over everything. I told Sean this but I'm CONSTANTLY reminding him to close the door. And that's if I catch him in time, sometimes he forgets when I'm not home and then he leaves for work.
Well this evening I went into our room for something and I noticed right next to the play pen that something REEKED of cat pee. I sniffed the bassinet's mattress and it's horrible. I'm so pissed because we spent $100 on that thing; it's got the bassinet, changing table, nightlight, music, and vibrating features and we haven't even been able to use it and we already have to get a new one. I don't know if I feel comfortable attempting to remove the cat pee because I will never know if I'm just removing the smell and not the pee itself, and that's not counting all the bacteria and whatnot that hides in their urine.
And of course I told Sean when he came home from his lunch break that we're gonna have to get a new one and when he asked why I told him to smell the bassinet. He doesn't think it smells like cat pee but of something else, but it is definitely cat pee. I'm just so upset because it's brand new and we already have to get another which we don't have the money for. The only reason why we were able to get this one was because of taxes.

Yeah, I've been trying to get rid of my boys for about 6 months now because all they do is pee on everything and it's so gross. I'm embarrassed to have people over because it's so strong. I've had people say they can smell it in my hallway of my apartment. But unfortunately, nobody will take them. So I'm looking into a shelter to take them,. :-( It makes me so sad. I'm glad that your SIL is taking her. My MIL took my girl a year ago when she started peeing on the carpet and we had just gotten the boys (they were only 3 weeks old and abandoned, so they really needed us. They were literally almost dead.) But she doesn't want anymore cats. lol

Oh dear doesnt sound good, is it a little fella cat?. I think ive started nesting ALREADY! im actually getting rid of my cat as i can't stand the thought of my cats hair everywhere. The thought of my baby teething and putting her hand in her mouth where she could have possibly picked up a hair makes my skin crawl. AND all of a sudden im fully aware of her bumhole on surfaces. no no no she HAS to go! My SiL is happy to take her off our hands. just thought I could relate to this journal entry:) good luck with your cat situation. i

Oh, and nesting has officially kicked in. I've been cleaning every day for the past week.
