I have an awesome freaking doctor! I was skeptical and apprehensive initially, but he was extremely thorough, discussed pregnancy in general and just took his time with me and my husband. He gave us his cell and told us to text anytime with any questions. Today he called and told me that my test results came back showing a mild urinary tract infection. He discussed the impact the uti has on pregnancy and treatment (antibiotics) and how the next appointment will go. For instance, I said, wow I dont feel any symptoms of a uti. He said, yes, pregnancy has a funny way of masking symptoms of other problems. In fact, a uti can damage the kidneys of a pregnant woman so we want to address it quickly. (!!!! McDream Dr.)
I'm a bit nervous about the antibiotics, and I also dont have all my test results back, but I'm pretty confident that whatever the results, I will hear from him! My husband says, this is the way doctors are SUPPOSED to be. Its very sad that my appreciation level is so high because I have had such terrible care in the past. Even the dr. who referred me to him was not as attentive. She kept checking her blackberry during my ultrasound. So I am one happy mama right now. ;-)
