The Dilemma
By Hudson » Posted Jul. 21, 2013 6:57am - 391 views - 1 comment

When I was about 2 weeks late, I made my first official ob appointment. The hospital pushed the appointment to 9/10 weeks, so they can get a good ultrasound photo for their patients. This appointment was with a female dr set for July 24. That's THIS Wednesday, I believe.

A couple of weeks later I experienced some period like bleeding and was able to see a dr who actually works in the same practice as the dr with whom I have an appointment on July 24. Unfortunately I couldn't see the original dr, bc she was on vacation and couldn't make an appointment bc she's booked until September. Anyway, the second drs office is on the same floor, next door in the same wing, etc. This is a male dr.

During this emergency appointment, the male dr was fantastic and had us make follow up appointments with him for the following month (August 12) and really took care of me. So though my follow up appointment with the second dr is August 12 for my 12 week, I never cancelled the original ob appointment for July 24!!!!! So theres the dilemma. To cancel or not to cancel.

My husband thinks I should honor the first appointment, check out the originial dr, see how the baby's doing. But my thing is, I liked the second dr, I'm not having any issues (knock on wood, God forbid), and I already know this lady is so booked that she won't be able to see me as a follow up in september! Oh, and let's not forget the chances of my bumping into the second dr given the proximity of their offices!! Arrrrgh, this is tough.

I'd say go to the appointment this Wednesday then decide who you want to stick with. If you do bump into the second doctor and he asks you can just explain that and the fact you didn't want to pass up a chance to see your baby. I know I wouldn't pass up a chance!
