My First Doctor Appointment
By montannababe » Posted Feb. 26, 2013 9:03am - 201 views - 0 comments

To my surprise my first doctor appointment wasn't a very good one. Sitting in a cold room a total of 6 hours waiting, I hated it. I hate hospitals anyways. I got my first ultrasound which was cool to see, I believe I saw two yolk sacs but I'm not sure, the ultrasound tec just said it was too early to see the baby but it did look like an early pregnancy. When that was over I was spotting a little, I asked if that was normal and she said yes so I didn't worry. Took me back to my original room and waited nearly two hours until a nurse came in and said that the doctor wanted to do a pelvic exam to make sure my cervix closed after the ultrasound. As the doctor began checking my cervix she said she needed a smaller tool but they were out so she proceeded to use the medium sized tool to check me. A minute or two passed by and she looked at the other nurses and said she couldn't do this because I was bleeding. I asked if that was normal and she said you shouldn't be bleeding this early in pregnancy. She said you're having cramps and your bleeding and if it worsens come back because you may be having a miscarriage. I went to the bathroom after she left and wiped, there was barely any blood at all, in fact you would have to squint and tilt your head to the left five times to see it. I began crying anyways, I didn't know if I was losing my baby or not or what to expect cause I thought spotting was normal. (This is my first pregnancy) So as I was being discharged an hour later the nurse said that if my cramps are worsened and if I'm bleeding a lot to come back but spotting and light cramping is normal. So after that I couldn't understand why the doctor tried to tell me I was miscarrying and acted like light cramping and spotting wasn't normal. I am certainly not going back to that hospital. My discharge pspers say threatened miscarriage and that I have to take it really easy for three weeks no strenuous activity or sex. So I'm on bed rest til I go to get my second ultrasound in two weeks to make sure everything is okay. I'm scared to do anything now :(
