Happy Official Due Date Day!

Well today's the day! And I'm happy to report my little man decided to come early! He arrived at 39+3, full term and beautiful. Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 7:21am. He weighed 7lbs 12.9oz and measured 19.5 inches long. We took him to the doctor for a wellness check yesterday and he was measured at 20.75 inches. Rather than thinking he grew over an inch in three days, it's more accurate to say he was a little scrunched up at birth and not wanting to be stretched out.
Labor was long and I made it 31 hours without medication. I was only at a 6 after 31 hours and wasn't progressing very quickly. I decided to get an epidural and was thankful. I hadn't slept at all since labor started and it gave me a chance to get some rest. After 4 more hours I was at a ten and could feel the need to push. I pushed for 15 minutes and little man started crying before he was completely delivered. :-) I ended up getting two stitches for a tear. I had six stitches with my daughter. Because of this my healing and recovery have been MUCH better.
Since pushing happened so quickly, he spent the better part of the next day and night spitting up amniotic fluid. He had some trouble latching and would every 5-8 hours and nurse. He became a little jaundiced. He never urinated the first day which had us worried.
Now that we are at day 4, I'm happy that all the fluid has been expelled, he latches each time and nurses for 45min-1hr and a half at a time, sleeps about 2.5 hrs between feedings, has been urinating normally and after being placed in his crib by a window his yellowing has significantly decreased.
So in love! And daddy and big sister are too! Couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
