OB woes

Well, today produced an interesting turn of events. My OB had been suspended from the hospital last year. When I met with him, he had every confidence that he would be reinstated by the time I delivered. Guess what I read in the local newspaper today? My OB has settled out of court, however, he will never be able to practice at our hospital again. The article alluded to some conflicts with staff at the hospital. It's too bad because I found him to be an excellent OB.

I don't know what the ettiquette is in this situation. I see my GP on Monday, do I ask her for another referral OR do I ask my OB when I see him next on March 12? This is a new situation for me, that's for sure. At least I found out now and not the month or so before I was due. So much excitement. :\

I switched at 20 weeks from an OB to a midwife. If you like the OB, I would ask him if he can recommend someone that has the same general practices as him. You can mention is to the GP also though and see if they have any good recommendations that way you can have a couple of options to choose from.

Wow. I would hate to have to switch in the middle of my pregnancy! Gosh, I hope you find someone else you like too.
