Can I Just demand a c section?!
By lyssa7872 » Posted Aug. 21, 2014 5:15pm - 334 views - 3 comments

So last night I fell asleep at 11 and woke up at 2 with contractions that kept both me and baby awake til 5:30am. then aryn woke everyone up at 6:30. I haven't been able to sleep since then.
I called in to L&D and they told me can't start a c section til I'm at 3cm so I might as well stay home until I KNOW something is happening and am in serious pain. So I've been in mild pain all day. I can feel my own cervix and it's thick and closed.
I'm exhausted and I just wanna go to bed, but I can't sleep. I want to just demand a c section at this point. I can't see how this is better for Mikah than NICU for a couple days :( I know that sounds selfish, but I just can't mentally handle this! She's pushing down so much it feels like she's gunna fall out!! UGGGGGH

From someone who had a baby at 35 weeks (and is no fan of pregnancy in general) try to be grateful she can stay in as long as possible. An emergency c-section is traumatic, not being allowed into the nciu as you've just had major surgery is traumatic and having a baby who can't breathe properly and can't suck is very traumatic. Inside you is the best possible place for her right now. You have a set date - enjoy counting off the days. Also ask the dr to give you some sleeping pills if you're not coping. There are safe onea and it is MUCH better to take something than to risk her health by getting her to come too soon

Yep, real contractions. I've had labor stopped twice before I reached 35 weeks. We're planning a c section for the 16th of september just because I recovered SO well the first time, and NEVER dilated when I was induced with my son. But they don't want to do the c section unless they have to...like because I'm already in labor, which they classify as at least 3cm.

I've got to just check that these are proper contractions or Braxtons.
They'll try to leave baby in there for as long as possible, i was having contractions for 3 days before i ended up having an emergency section with my son.
I'm pretty sure they will leave you in the hope you will have baby virginaly
Unless there is a really good reason you can't have the baby by other than a section.
They tried to talk me out of wanting a section by choice with my 2nd child and was trying to get me to have a date really close to my due date in the hope i would go into labour as i had said if i did go into labour then i would have the baby naturally but i had been in pain the whole time and took the first date they had.
