4 Under 2...lord help us all.

A family member's child is 8 months old. He's currently being tested to figure out if he is being abused or if he has a bone disease/illness. He currently has one arm broken, and the other arm and both legs have been broken in the past and have rehealed - though incorrectly. Currently he is staying with his great grandparents and my husband and I are having our house checked in a week or so when the social working is around, to see if we can also watch him temporarily. We've decided we would take "Charlie" if he needs a place, since the great grands are in their 60's and do not want to raise a child. The mother is also pregnant with another child.
My husband and I have a 9 month old, and are 28 weeks pregnant with our daughter. If all this comes to pass and we take Charlie, in February we will have the adopted/fostered newborn (we're calling the fetus Evin for now just because I believe it's a person already in there, a life), our daughter, Mikah, who will be 4 months old, Charlie, who will be 15 months, and our son Aryn, who will be 16 months.
That's 4 kids under 2. That's a bit crazy. However, we're the only family willing and possibly capable of taking on Charlie and Evin right now if it does turn into an abuse charge. I'm not even sure what to hope at this point. How do you hope that the kid either has a bone disease he'll have to live with all his life, or that he's getting beat by his parents - who are your family!? It's insane. At this point there is no medical evidence pointing to anything other than abuse. He has not broken anything or had any bruising while in the care of the great grandparents or myself...which if it was a disease or illness and the parents were doing things correctly, his condition should not have improved.
With God's help we will watch this all play out however it's supposed to play out. With his blessings we will have the wisdom and patience to be able to take care of all these kids.
Any tips from readers appreciated!

You can do it! People have multiples all the time!! Hard work in the beginning but it such a wonderful thing that your doing. I would never let my family members be put into the foster system or let siblings be split up.

My sister owns a child care and from what I have been told doctors can definitely tell if breaks are from a simple fall or a blow. If he doesn't have a disease and has broken his three other limbs, neglect maybe be in question. Like who was watching him or was he being watched when he got hurt. Neglect is also considered child abuse. It sounds like this poor boy is off to a rough start. I'm glad you and your husband are willing to step up to the plate for those kids. You are doing the right thing! Best of wishes!

Sounds like a lot of prayer could be helpful. I hope everything turns out the way it should and all parties involved get the help they need. Good luck!
