100 days to go!

So, I saw someone else's JE a while back excitedly proclaiming they were in double digits of their countdown. I guess that's me tomorrow, assuming I get to deliver on my due date. (FAT CHANCE!) My only consolation about the due date is that it was based purely on my early ultrasound and not my last menstrual period. If it had been based on my LMP, I would be due July 5th and thinking I was 2 weeks ahead of where I am right now. Perhaps this time I will go into labor naturally and have little Emma (eek! I said it. I reserve the right to change her name, but that's my current fav.) around July 19th. :) My boss is avidly training my replacement. It's kind of a relief. If there is redundancy at my job, I can leave comfortably. I hated being the only one who knew how to do things because I felt it limited my flexibility. I haven't taken longer than a day vacation since August last year. And I've felt like I couldn't. Yesterday one of my coworkers mentioned my "July vacation." I gulped and proclaimed, "Vacation?" She backpedaled and said something about getting used to taking care of my new parasite. Hehehe. She and I are careful not to fantasize or sugar coat the early days of parenting, much as we love our children. Anyway, you guys are helping me get excited and realize the reality of what's going to come our way this summer. I think because this is my second baby, and I didn't really feel the need to check out any pregnancy books or constantly read reviews for baby products as I feverishly update my registry, I needed something else equally stimulating as a distraction for the endless months of waiting. Thanks, ladies, and thanks to all those still on CTP!

DH loves popular names from the 1980s. I groaned that I didn't want to name our daughter the same name as my schoolmates I grew up with. He texted me the names EMMA and EMILY awhile back. I sighed that they are some of the most popular names in the 2000s, and everyone else will have the name. However, it grew on me. I don't know any Emma. It's easy to pronounce and spell. Also, it reminds me of the book and movie "Emma." :) Solo, it's sticking, for now.

Congrats on making it into the double digit countdown! I feel like my pregnancy is flying since I passed that mark. Also, I love the name Emma as well!

Love the name! And lol about the "parasite". I totally get it =)
Kind of irritates me when women are all butterflies and rainbows about it. Granted, nobody wants to listen to us bitch about it all the time, but I think it's important to acknowledge that there are bad days with the good. Of course we love our children but everyone knows there's days when you just want to get away lol.

I'm finding it kind of difficult to get excited right now in the early days of my second pregnancy. It's not new territory so I feel like that's dampening the excitement.. having that whole "been there done that" feeling about it lol. I'm hoping when I get to see the baby on an ultrasound it'll get a little more exciting for me

Oh, Emma is so pretty! But...I know what you mean about not wanting to commit to one in case you change your mind, lol. Love the backpedaling your colleague had to do when mentioning your "vacation", lol. Good save for her. She's going to be here before you know it! Exciting times!!
