I did it. I bought something besides diapers for baby Emma. I was at Value Village yesterday, and I spent $3.50 on her. I actually didn't like most of the little girl clothes. Maybe because I'm so used to boy clothes. A lot of the patterns and designs felt busy, unnecessary, impractical, ugly... I'm not as girly as I used to be. I worry more about comfort and ease of getting items on and off. Anyway, I chose a tiny $0.99 onesie that had a blue tag (50% off yesterday). I kept most of Cam's newborn clothes because they're so cute and gender neutral enough. However, I really wanted to buy her something of my choosing. Just a little something to add some excitement. :) Also, with my aspirations to take her outside during the summer and early fall, I found two $1.49 hats. The polka dot one is actually navy, though the pic looks black. I'm really much more excited to see what hand-me-downs I receive. I guess I'm not used to baby shopping. I have been blessed with so many clothes for Cameron from other people, I only ever needed to buy him socks, pjs, one pair of shoes, and some consignment/thrift stuff to satiate my desire to pick out some of his recent wardrobe. No exception yesterday. I had several superhero shirts in hand for him before settling for just one $0.99 Avengers shirt. He loves it, and of course, wore it today! So, besides a couple other thrift shop purchases, equally as cheap, I bought groceries, diapers (mostly size 5 for my slow learner), candy, and *gasp* a new $19.99 striped navy/white maternity shirt for me. Like the baby clothes, I had been relying on old stuff from last pregnancy, and some recent thrift shop purchases. Nice to splurge, though! It's soft, well made, and has room to get me through to my due date. I wore it today to church and the park, etc... Very versatile tee. It'll probably be in a bump pic soon enough. DH has been lying/napping on my tummy tonight. Emma is definitely responding to this. She is currently prodding at his head with a foot or arm as he sleeps!
