Well, the weekend is half over. I had quite the eventful Saturday--starting with DH waking up at 4am to get himself ready for a half marathon. We did the logical 4am thing to do and had sex before he left. Um. Yeah. He's been not home much recently, so intimacy is kind of important to keep our relationship from getting too strained. Also, I'm not super comfortable sleeping/lying in our bed recently, so it's nice to do something to relieve stress/forget about aches and pains for a bit. While he was running, I watched Mogchi's long Q&A Vlog on YouTube and got dressed to go to brunch with a friend. She spoiled Cameron with some gifts, and then the in-laws hung out with us all afternoon. I showed MIL all the girl clothes I have in bags. She cooed appropriately over everything. She only had two boys, and thus far Cameron is her only grandkid, so you can imagine how excited she is to see all the frilly little girl stuff. Cam was beyond exhausted after his relatively early wake up, brunch, and running around at the park and rough housing with the grandparents. He slept for about 3-3.5 hours during the evening and still didn't complain too much about going to bed. Also, I got him to pee in his little toilet FOUR times today!!! If only I didn't have to tell him to go. SMH. We'll get there someday. For now, I'm happy that he had a couple of dry diapers in between me getting him on the toilet, and the fact that he was able to help dress/undress himself. I had to catch myself several times today when I almost said Emma's name. After all, it's still a surprise. She's a mover. That's for sure. I am relieved that she makes her presence known often. I'm starting to miss my old body, but I'm also trying to savor this time because most likely I'm not going to get pregnant again, and I will probably also get nostalgic about the time when Cameron was an only child. Life will definitely get more interesting here in the next couple months. I remember after Cameron was born wishing that I'd slept more while I was pregnant, as if taking advantage of the newborn-free rest time would somehow help with my sleep deprived new parent exhaustion. For now, I have to remember that this choice to stay up blogging, watching TV, or doing whatever I feel like doing rather than sleep is not a waste of time, but exercising my freedom from a newborn in a different way. It's not that I'm not tired, it's just that I don't feel sleepy at the right time. I get sleepy when I'm supposed to be awake, like church last week, and sitting at work integrating hormone analyte peaks. Besides acid reflux (happening even as I type), sciatica, and tingling breasts from them being so huge when I lie down, I'm also experiencing some virus/allergy induced nasal congestion. Tonight I broke down and put a breathe right strip on. Hopefully this helps a bit. DH said I was snoring badly Wednesday night. Okay, off to get a couple of Tums before I try to sleep. Yeah, it's 1:30am. No, I didn't take a nap today. Yes, I was up at 4am with DH, and then 6am with DS. Yes, I may be crazy.

I love your writing style. You poor thing...but how fun & interesting to have support & distractions. To help my wonky sleep patterns, last weekend I bought a "U" pregnancy pillow & a memory foam wedge pillow set/system off Craigslist. Now I can sleep sitting up or on my side & they support my back & belly. I've also found that if eat a bedtime snack, stay up a little later than usual, but get up at the same time I'm able to go back to sleep fast during the night.
Cameron is such a big boy now. He's going to be a great big brother to "Bear" I mean...Emma, lol. :)

Lol, your je's are always interesting. My sleep cycle is wonky too but unlike you, I can't even use the no-sleep time for anything tangible cuz its s always a case of not being able to get comfortable at all, either sitting or laying down. Cameron is reallygrowing into a big boy now :)
