32 Weeks & OB Appointment

I am really shocked by my appointment today. She decided to check my cervix since it has been a month since the last time. She didn't want to press down this time, though. She was trying not to irritate it. I was only slightly over 1cm without pressure. With as many contractions and cramping as I've had (and other symptoms)... I'm really surprised it hasn't progressed further. Happy... just surprised! They were really happy with my blood sugar results. They said if I go another two weeks with those kinds of numbers, then I can start checking only twice a day. Two weeks after that with great numbers... and I can stop altogether! They still aren't too comfortable with my low weight gain, but I did gain 1 more pound since my last appointment two weeks ago. So as long as I'm gaining at all, they aren't too concerned. Uterus grew again, so baby is at least growing. Her heart rate is still a strong 148 :) My OB ward has six different doctors. They have you rotate and see a different one each time. I have seen the same 4 for this whole pregnancy, and I have become comfortable with those four. There is a new doctor that just started that they scheduled me with next time. I have never heard of her before, and I really don't think this late in the pregnancy I should need to see a new person. Especially with my history. Not to mention that when I looked for her name on the board, it said "D.O." next to it instead of "M.D." like the rest. I don't even know what D.O. means!
I am so ready to get this work day over with, and have a day off for Thanksgiving! I have just been way too tired for anything lately. I have been passing out by 8-9pm every night which is WAY early for me. And then this weekend, I slept in until almost 10am both days. That's definitely not like me. Granted.. I wake up about a dozen times a night. But still... I shouldn't be so tired all the time. Baby girl sure is taking everything out of me!
We got almost all of our Christmas shopping done Monday night. I just need to buy for my SO, and a couple more things for my little girls. I am not buying for anyone outside of my house this year. I think people understand that we are strapped for money more than usual with a baby so close to coming home. My girls definitely got spoiled, though. They have earned it. They have been so helpful throughout this pregnancy.
I have felt a weird sensation a few different times that I can only describe as the baby pinching the end of my urethra really hard. It is painful and stops me in my tracks. I have actually gasped out loud trying not to scream a couple times. The doctor said that's usually a sign that she is pushing on the cervix. So she is definitely down low, but she also comes back up just a tiny bit so not engaged. She is just teasing Mommy and being as unpredictable as possible. Quite obstreperous already like her father!!

Glad everything is going so well. Isn't it great to have the Christmas shopping done?! I just have to grab a git card and get wrapping.

Yay that baby is staying put! I know you have been worried about her coming early. My doctor has D.O after her name, as well. Not sure what it means either, but I LOVE her. She is amazing, which is why I still drive an hour to go to her office. I couldn't imagine going to a practice where I had to see multiple doctors.

And yay for almost being done with Christmas shopping!

That is awesome that you are doing so well! Your body is doing a lot of work so falling asleep early and sleeping late is probably a good thing, enjoy it!
