Day 3- Looking like she's just not ready

Day #3 since I had the sweep done. The doctor told me to give it 72 hours, so if I'm not in labor by the time I wake up tomorrow morning I'm going to say that it was a failed attempt. That's ok, though. It was still early. Only week 38. I just had my hopes up since I've already been 3cm and 90% effaced for so long and having pretty constant contractions since week 27. I'm not feeling quite so down about it as I was yesterday. I think I was just having a fluctuation of hormones. I was up, down, and all around from morning til night yesterday.
We did DTD. Which we haven't done much of since they put me on pelvic rest from week 27-32. It's only been about once a week at the most. My whole pelvis has just been very uncomfortable, so even when my sex drive is high I just really didn't want to try it. Well I lost my mucus plug during sex (thought it was my waters at first), had lots of spotting immediately following (which I haven't had any at all until last night), and I had instant STRONG contractions that last 3 hours until I finally passed out from pain and exhaustion. Woke up 3-4 times to pee, and the contractions had slowed back down again. So here I am sitting at work for my last day before my maternity leave starts and assuming little miss Aleena won't be arriving until next Wednesday when they induce me. I'm done trying all the natural stuff. She will come when she's ready, and it just makes my anxiety higher. Just going to go with the flow and enjoy this last weekend with my SO that we will have alone probably forever. Lol! My girls are with their dad this weekend, and he took the whole weekend off work so that we can just relax and spend some quality time together. :) Watch... now that I have made that resolution, she will decide to join us. Haha!

We have kids, we know how much they like to interrupt things. ;-) |
