28 Weeks and 1 hour glucose FAIL!
By Tafoyarael5 » Posted Nov. 3, 2015 12:25pm - 330 views - 5 comments

Well I gained 3 pounds in like 2 weeks :( I didn't FEEL like i was stuffing my face more. I have gained 16 pounds so far but it seems like the pounds are coming on quicker now. My hands are a little swollen these days. I am bummed most about the fact that i failed my 1 hour glucose test. My level was 149. I didn't exactly fast before the appointment and I had banana about an hour before drinking the glucola, I wonder if it skewed the results at all?? Either way I have to do a 3 hour glucose test on saturday and i am super nervous. Not nervous about the test but afraid that Olivia will be a large baby at birth and perhaps have complications :,( its awful to think that I could potentially have diabetes with the holidays coming up as well. I dont usually over indulge, but man i wanted to enjoy the holiday food without worry.

Thank you everyone so much. It is extremely helpful to hear all of this, I feel like now I can sleep tonight. :)

I have GD and it's really not as bad as you would think. I do concur with what the others have said. Many women fail the 1 hour and go on to pass the 3 hour with no problem. And not all GD babies are large. I had GD with my oldest and he was only 6lbs 8oz, born at 40 weeks 2 days. My youngest son (my last pregnancy, no GD) was 8lbs at 39 weeks, so he was bigger than his brother.

Don't stress about it! The 3 hour gives them a better guess at your numbers and there's a chance you will be just fine and will pass the 3 one. Also, coming from someone who had GD in both my previous pregnancies, not all GD babies are big. My girls were 7.8 and 7.3. Petite little things. :) Also, you can still enjoy the holidays even with GD I promise!

I failed my test last week as well. I'll be going Thursday morning for the 3 hour test. I've heard so many people have gotten good results after failing the 1 hour, so keep your head up!! Could just be a fluke :)

I failed my hr test with a level of 155 and passed my 3 hr test with no issue. That banana could have caused a problem. I was told to fast before my hr test. I would try not to worry too much as so many people fail their hour test!
