77 Days to Go!

Wow, by the end of the month, I'll be in the single digits as far as weeks remaining are concerned. It's getting real! And in seventeen days I'll be able to say that my baby is going to be born the same year. I'm so excited to finally have my little family complete and begin building our future. We've moved the bassinet into our room already (hubby actually did it but he was so excited I didn't have the heart to tell him it was a little soon) and I've finished one of three pieces of mandala art to go in her nursery. DeWayne has one section of one table to finish painting and we'll be ready to set up her room for her arrival. I was surprised because my sister-in-law basically called dibs on throwing my shower. She is going to let my mom and mother-in-law help but she was really gung-ho, probably because I threw hers for baby number three. I have started our registry and I guess I have to get an invite list put together. I want the party, of course, but I'm tired just thinking about it. She wants to do it in January, I guess we'll see. But I am twenty-nine weeks pregnant today and, as of yesterday, I have begun leaking colostrum. *Sigh* I never experienced it early with Sebastian so I was concerned enough to Google it. Apparently it's perfectly normal but I'm not sure how I'll deal with it for another eleven weeks; invest in nursing pads, I suppose. My husband is constantly teasing me, about constantly tossing in bed, breathing like a stalker at the top of the stairs, gasping out loud when baby girl kicks my tender parts, but men really have no idea what all we go through to continue the species, do they?? If it was up to them, I seriously doubt the world would have a human population issue...
On a separate note, my boy's birthday party was an absolute success. He had a blast and we spent our other free days going to see big light displays and the amusement park we have memberships to. It was fun but it'll take me a week to recover and then his Christmas break starts next week. Gracious! No wonder time seems to finally be picking up the pace... At least we are almost ready for Christmas. It's going to be a small affair but no one really seems to mind. Everyone on my list asked for less this year, as did we. I wonder why... I hope it means we're all rediscovering the real reason for the season.
