Well, I told my boss yesterday. I haven't even told my family yet. Work was looking at scheduling travel for next year for 3 weeks at a time. I felt I owed it to him to tell him that I would not be able to travel starting at the very latest in April, and the reason why.
He took it very well and seemed excited for me. He is a big family man and always tries to make sure that work/life balance is there. I told him that i wasn't ready to tell the rest of the team yet and he was very understanding. He said he will work with on the scheduling to have me not travel.
I got really emotional telling him, but he was very supportive. Wish i could have waited a bit more, but things happen. I think telling someone (besides my husband and doctor) is kinda making it feel even more real.
