7w5d - There is a heartbeat!

Well, today we went for our first ultrasound (I'm not counting the placement scan we had at 5w3d). We heard the heartbeat beating away at 148.5bpm! I cried instantly... I THINK Hubby got teary eyed but I didn't really look at him, I was too busy staring at the screen. My RE said baby was measuring at 7w3d. I asked if that was a cause for concern and she said no and that everything looked great. She took some more measurements, printed us some pics, congratulated us and told us we graduate to an OB now! Ironically, EXACTLY one year ago to the day, we left the clinic after our first appointment and I broke down in tears in the parking lot. Today, I also cried in the parking lot, but it was tears of joy.

Update - I looked at my patient portal at the ultrasound report and it said the sac is measuring 7w at 20.58! Of course I started googling smaller sacs and pretty much all that came up was miscarriage after miscarriage... Ugh, why do I do this to myself???

Thank you Ladies.... I know I'm being ridiculous! haha... I thought that as soon as I heard the heartbeat I would magically stop worrying... Not sure who I thought I was kidding though, I'm such a worrier - once one thing is "put to rest" I just find something else. *sigh*

My first daughter measured 5 days behind and turned out just fine. I think if you were measuring more 2-3 weeks behind there might be cause for concern but with that strong heartbeat I would bet you that all will be fine :) Try not to worry too much, I know...easorry said than done! Good luck!

I was 7 weeks and 5 days at my first ultrasound this pregnancy and my baby was measuring at 7 weeks and 3 days. Now I'm 34 weeks and 4 days with another little girl she is growing good and healthy. I will be 35 weeks on Sunday. Everything will be fine do not stress yourself out by looking things up.
