Those two pink lines
By smemett » Posted Oct. 25, 2011 11:18pm - 282 views - 0 comments

I had taken a pregnancy test 5 days earlier only to realize I was looking a week ahead on my calendar. The test was negative. The next day I noticed some light bleeding so I figured my period was about to start and decided to start praying that next month would be the month. Well when the bleeding stopped and the next week rolled around I was more than anxious to go ahead and give it another try considering I was about 12 days past ovulation. During those three minutes I tried real hard not to peek in order to not get my hopes up and when those minutes had passed I was absolutely ecstatic to see those two beautiful pink lines. I immediately knelt and prayed to my Heavenly Father thanking Him for this blessing, for this opportunity. I quickly took my shower and woke up my husband. His reaction was muddled considering it was too early for him. He got up and looked at the test, "the second line is kind of light isn't it?" was his reaction. I quickly corrected him in mentioning that it didn't matter how dark the line is, all that matters is that there is a line! I'll pardon his insensitivity to the fact that it was early.

It's hard to keep news like this to yourself. We both went about our day wanting to tell anyone that so much as asked the typical question of "How's it going?" or "What's up?" for a lot was going on and 24 hour construction in my body, that's what's up! Something like this you just wanna shout from the rooftops! So we told our parents....and that's it, for now at least. I'm currently 4 weeks and 4 days along and I have my first OB appointment in 28 days, just a few days before Thanksgiving. So here's the plan, if the Dr says everything is good to go so far then we will inform our families on Thanksgiving. I can't wait! I can't wait to hear the heartbeat, to see my little bean growing inside me, to finally be able to shout it out (to a small group of people). This is such an exciting time.
