Conceiving Our Last Babe
By BrittanyP0714 » Posted Jan. 29, 2019 12:13am - 252 views - 2 comments

I had my last babe in November 2017 and it was a pleasant pregnancy for the most part with no complications or issues throughout the duration of my pregnancy. I stopped breastfeeding in June 2018 and knew my cycles were going to be all over the board until they regulated after ending my breastfeeding journey. SO and I had a date set to start trying for another babe and I was certain with months of longer days between my next period that it would take a few tries to conceive, however that was not the case.

My period came on December 25th which was a few days earlier than I was expecting. I went to the store and bought my OPK and stocked up on a few pregnancy tests to start preparing for our cycle to conceive. I started Ovulation testing 4 days after my period ended. I got 1 day of low fertility followed by 4 days of high fertility and then my peak result on CD14. We baby danced alot less this time then my previous pregnancy due to my little guy getting croup. I was bloated and constipated for a few days.

On 6dpo I had really bad cramping and chills and had an itch that that very well could have beven my implantation. I waited till 8dpo and decided with how I was feeling that I could take my first hpt and see what came up. Sure enough I got a very faint positive. Over the course of the next few days I tested every morning with FMU and the line progressively got darker. I called my OB on 10dpo and she wanted me to come in for a beta test. I went in to my OB office and had my blood drawn and my beta was 46, (which calculated me at 1-2 weeks pregnant which did not match my lmp) which was too low, but still a positive pregnancy result. My OB requested I go back in 48 hours for another beta, so I did on 12dpo and my beta was 126....YAY! My OB was happy with the increase so she scheduled me for a 6 week 2 day ultrasound on Feb 7th with labs.

I am in complete shock how quickly and easily we were able to conceive after irregular periods over a 7 month span. I am looking forward to a pleasant pregnancy and to bring home a healthy babe in late September/ early October!

Congratulations! We were a bit surprised with our current pregnancy too and, after experiencing being a drill sergeant with our first child as far as TTC and BDing at all the right times, the "surprise" pregnancy was much more exciting and relaxing for sure, haha.
