11 weeks and we settled on a name!

Things have been chugging along so far. I am definitely following in my sister's footsteps and showing early! She had a definite bump by 12 weeks and it looks like I'm on track to be the same. I always had a little "pooch" after having back surgery, and the last few weeks it's been getting marginally bigger, but now it's definitely noticeable. Which is exciting.

I'm still really sick without Zofran. I haven't been taking it on the weekends to preserve what I have and those are the days where I get to see how bad it really is. I throw up everything I consume, and I mean everything. Weekends are miserable, so I'm hoping things peter out by 12 weeks.

I have a high blood pressure issue, which scares me. I had high blood pressure for years before getting pregnant, so my risk for preeclampsia is really high and I'm terrified. I don't want to have to deliver my baby early. My doctor is closely watching me though, which is reassuring, and I'm on medication so we'll see how it goes. I have a great healthcare team taking great care of me.

I feel like time is going by pretty fast. It's hard to believe I'm already 11 weeks. It feels like I just barely got my bfp. My husband and I finally found a name we both agree on and I'm so incredibly excited. I found it in old family history records. I was going through them for inspiration and I came across the middle name of one of my great great great grandmothers, Evaline. I absolutely love it. It checks off all my criteria: nothing creative, nothing popular (preferable out of the top 1000), nothing unisex, and nothing cutesy the baby can grow out of. What's even better is that my husband likes it, too! I couldn't get him to agree on ANYTHING but now that I found this name, I'm sticking with it. Her middle name will be Rose, after my dad's grandmother. I'm a sap for family names. I believe that middle names should be family names, otherwise they're kind of pointless. My gut feeling says that this baby is a girl, but I completely understand the equal likelihood that I'm wrong and it's a boy. In that case he'll be named after my father, Mark, and his middle name will be my husband's middle name, Oliver. My husband couldn't care less about family names, he just wants names that "sound good." I won a bet with him so I get to name this first baby, meaning that if there's a second, he'll get to name it. He has very boring taste in names so I'm not worried about him picking something awful.
