Your Results
Your Pre-Pregnancy BMI is: 19.6 (Normal)
Based on your pre-pregnancy BMI, your recommended weight gain is between:
25-35 pounds
Twins: 37-54 pounds
You should gain approximately 1 to 5 pounds in the first trimester and about 1 pound per week for the rest of your pregnancy. The majority of your weight gain will be evenly spread over the last two trimesters, about a pound a week. Again, if you are underweight this should be increased by about 25% and if you are overweight it should be decreased by the same amount.
Remember, no matter what you weigh prior to pregnancy you must gain weight!
Where does the weight go?
â?¢Baby: 7 to 9 pounds
â?¢Placenta: 2 to 3 pounds
â?¢Amniotic fluid: 2 to 3 pounds
â?¢Uterine enlargement: 2 to 5 pounds
â?¢Increased blood volume: 4 to 5 pounds
â?¢Breast enlargement: 1 pound
â?¢Fluid in maternal tissue: 3 to 4 pounds
