12 week scan...

I have the long awaited 12 week scan on Friday. Judging by my lmp I was 12 weeks and 1 day but I was actually 12 weeks 5 days!!! So that means today I am 13 weeks. It was so lovely.. The sonographer was friendly, funny, everything you'd want. I lay there and she scanned my belly and there was our peach, straight away, the pressure making its arm move so it totally looked like it was waving. It took my breath away - after all the paranoia of thinking nothing would be there, there it was, waving! She said that it was behaving itself and while its head was up she took a measurement of the fluid at the back of the neck and said it was a perfect measurement. In fact she said everything looked perfect, showed us fingers, feet, heart, the top of the head, umbilical cord. It was amazing. Because I have a low BMi they have put me under a consultant in case baby is smaller than normal but so far it's as big as it should be. So so happy and relieved and I think we've told pretty much anyone who'll listen!!!

I am 8 wks today and so looking forward to seeing our baby again in 2 wks. I had a scan last week and saw it's heart beat. It was so magical that it made me cry. such a joyus time in our lives. I wish you nothing but the best |
