Q: First ultrasound?

How far along were you at your first ultrasound and did you see the babys heart beat? I have my ultrasound planned for 8 weeks and 3 days so like 2 1/2 weeks from now but Im just wondering what I should expect.

I had one at 7 weeks, and again at 8 weeks, (both vaginally) and saw a heartbeat both times. At 8 weeks, we could also already see the little buds where arms and legs would form. Best of luck!

Mine wasn't until 12 weeks so there was a whole baby. You might want to inquire if yours will be abdominal or vaginal. If it's abdominal you need to drink lots of water beforehand to have the bladder push everything forward for the ultrasound to see better. I am not sure if you need the extra water for a vaginal one, and the last thing you want to do is have extra water for nothing and have them poking around down there!!

I was 6w3d and we saw the heartbeat (two little chambers "flashing"). You should definitely see and probably hear yours by 8 weeks!
