Q: Having a shower when you're an unwed mom to be?

I want to specify that I am not a teenage, I'm 22 and I live with my boyfriend. We've been together for a while now, and while we're not married, we are having a child together. I'm just wondering if it's odd for an unwed person to have a baby shower? Any opinions? Thanks!

I would not worry so much, since common law couples are are regular as married couples. Besides, your friends accept you as you are and likely won't mind a shower. Hope you enjoy it.

Thanks everyone! I'm glad to see everyone is really positive about this. My mother was the one who initially asked me if I was going to have a shower since I'm not married to the father (yet). That's what got me thinking and I just wanted to make sure. All your answers were very helpful! Thank you again!

Im 23, not married and i'll be having a baby shower for sure. My family and friends would be very disapointed if they didn't get to celebrate this moment with us. People always go on about being married and blah blah but aslong as your happy who cares. Hope you have a beautiful baby shower :)
