Q: Is bleeding during pregnancy a bad sign?

I started bleeding yesterday. At first, it was a light pink sort of spotting. Also slightly brown. When I woke up this morning, I had very bright blood, very red. I am 6 weeks today and scared to death. Has anyone else had this same sort of issue and still carried a viable pregnancy? I talk to my doctor about it yesterday when the blood was still pink and slightly brown and she advised that there was no issue. But with the blood being very bright red today, it's causing concern for me. I did not have sex to prompt the bleeding nor do I have any cramping to follow the bleeding. Please help me understand if this is normal. I am scared to death of what is to come.

Im sorry i had bleeding to start with no cramps i sadly was miscarrying it took 24 hours before the cramps/pain started. I'd get checked straight away as some people do bleed in pregnancy and are o.k. Good luck.x

Bright red bleeding is cause for concern and you should go immediately to the ER. If you are miscarrying they will need to assess if you need the rhogam shot to protect future pregnancies. I hope that is not the case but you definitely need to seek attention right away to be sure.
