Q: Anyone experience being induced?

Well I am 39 weeks today and from my last OB appointment it looks like my little one is all comfy and may need to some nudges in order to get her out! Was wondering if anyone here has experienced being induced. Didn't wanna have to use any drugs for this delivery but I'm guessing some may be needed...

I did not say I was being induced now, I said it was a possibility since nothing has started happening yet and since first time mom's tend to go past their projected due dates. And since I was planning an all natural birth, this was upsetting to me and I was looking for opinions and experiences from people who HAVE been induced. My OB does not like going past 41 weeks so that's when my induction would be scheduled.

I have never been induced ( sorry I'm not more of a help) but I do have a question ...why are you being induced right now? Full term is 40 weeks and most places will have you go to 42 before inducing..

There are plenty of reason why most OBs don't like going pass 41 weeks. With both of my previous babes I was induced. #1 was 2 weeks pass due she was 9 lbs 10oz and she ingested lots of meconium and was having a hard time breathing for the first 30 minutes of her life. #2 was induced at 40 weeks to prevent what happened with #1 from happening again. I was already in labor by the time I got to the hospital and they went ahead with the induction. DS was 7lbs 15 oz with umbilical cord wrapped around his neck but he did great right after. The positive side about induction is that you don't get sent home for being in the beginning phase of your labor. Maybe you could ask for your mocous plug to be removed by your OB, that's a more natural way of getting labor started. I'm just not sure of the success rate though. My OB did that for my 2nd one and I started having contractions on my way home to get my hospital bag. Goodluck... I'm looking forward to seeing your baby's pic soon.
