Q: How many weeks were you when you got your first ultrasound?

Some people get a dating ultrasound between 6-7 weeks. Curious when most go?

6 weeks 4 days. But I had an IUI, so the RE's office did the US. My first US with my OB was 8 weeks. An OB usually won't see you before that. Good luck!!

It depends where you live. In the UK the official dating scan is 12wks.

Try to relax and not stress yourself too much. I had a miscarriage in February, though, so I know it's easier said than done. You don't want to go in too early and not be able to hear the heartbeat- that'd cause lots of unnecessary worry. I know the first few weeks are tough to enjoy, but try to. In the end it all passes very quickly :) congratulations!

I've gone for a dating ultrasound at 7 weeks 2 days for both my previous pregnancies and am booked for 7w2d for this one as well. I never asked to go the first 2 times, my GP just sent me. At the dating scan for my 2nd pregnancy we found out it was a blighted ovum. It was a horrible 2 weeks after that scan waiting to go back to see if there was a foetal pole and heartbeat, sadly there wasn't. This pregnancy I have a new GP and she wasn't going to send me for a dating u/s but I asked for the referral as I am extremely nervous after my last pregnancy and want to know as soon as possible that this one is on track.

8 weeks will be my first one for dating and health purposes, simply because thats the soonest they can rule out anything wrong with pregnancy, like tubal pregnancy. So I still have a little less than 2 weeks :-( Boo, lol.
