Q: Could Preseed lubricant have caused my miscarriage?

Just found out I had a missed miscarriage on Wednesday and had a d & c yesterday. I am so eager to get pregnant as soon as my body will allow it. We got pregnant after two months of trying and only used the Preseed the month we concieved. I'm terrified to use it again. I had no ewcm so I thought the Preseed would help. After my BFP I was sure it had. Now that I m/c I am reading that several women go on to m/c after using the Preseed. I tried taking the evening primrose oil and it did nothing. Anyone else m/c after using Preseed? Is there anything else I can try to increase my ewcm? I know about mucinex and fertile cm........

I had two early miscarriages and because I used Pre-Seed I also was worried that it was that that caused it. Especially when you hear everyone online saying Pre-Seed causes miscarriages. This article is pretty good and put my mind at rest:

http://www.myinformedlife.co.uk/do-fertility-lubricants-like-pre-seed-cause-miscarriage-2/

The author went to the companies that make Preseed and also two other lubricants and asked them whether there was any truth in the rumour that Preseed causes miscarriages by damaging sperm or because it somehow allows the 'bad sperm' to flourish and fertilise the egg in an unhealthy way. The companies address each of these questions quite thoroughly. The author also asked whether there had ever been any research in to miscarriage rates among users of pre-seed - currently there isn't any research.
Sorry for your loss and good luck and baby dust to everyone TTC x x x

Also Acupuncture is also great if you have a good acupuncturist around. These are all methods that were used for thousands of years before our more "conventional medicines". It's very important to let your body go through atleast 2 cycles to get regular and build the blood back up, I know it's hard to wait and it's of course completely up to you. But it would really help to increase your chances of a healthy pregnancy. I hope all of this helps and sorry if I overposted, I get excited about helping other women who have gone through losses. I had a stillbirth at 38 weeks a little over a year ago, I then got pregnant after my second postpartum period and miscarried at 9 weeks, I then miscarried again 2 months later with an early miscarriage. I always miscarried naturally (no D&C's) so I lost alot of blood with my 9 week (which you probably didnt have to go through which is good. ) which is why it was so important for me to build my blood back up. well best of luck to you :)

I wish you the best of luck. I was also going to mention that after my last miscarriage I also began charting my bbt and used a really helpful book callled "your fertility signals". It was amazing helpful to do, and I could see (over the three months before I conceived again) how my cycles were getting healthier and how my cm was becoming more fertile. I think that herbs are an amazing part to healing any body, and the best part is they work with your body's natural resources to help balance and create a healthy environment. I didnt quite explain some of the herbs I used but I'll try to do so. Vitex is an essential herb for hormone balance and increases fertility. Dong Quai is important for building & nourishing the blood in the uterus and also enhances fertility in both men & women. Both those herbs are nearly essential after a miscarriage. I'm an herbalist, so that's just what I believe in. I think that you would definitely gain from trying some of thiese natural me

Thanks everyone.... I was almost 11 weeks when I miscarried. I also saw a heart beat at 6 weeks 5 days and thought my chances of miscarriage were low.....guess not. I've heard the Preseed lets the "bad" sperm through as well because it's not your natural ewcm that is weeding out the sperm that isn't good. I'm terrified to try it again. I know it's the reason we concieved in the 1st place....What to do what to do.

I dont know much about preseed but I can tell you what I took before conceiving this time (after 2 miscarriages). I figured that I would try to start taking some good healing herbs for my reproductive system after my last miscarriage and I began taking Vitex, Dong Quai, Royal Jelly, and an omega 3 complex called Omega Mom. I also was taking my prenatal. I took the vitex, Dong Quai, and Royal Jelly only for the first half of my cycle and then stopped and only took my vitamins and 1-2 capsules of Wild Yam (helps produce progesterone to hold a pregnancy). I then took L-Arginine (an amino acid) for my entire cycle. This is what helps produce very fertile ewcm. Both me & my husband took this (it's great for healthy sperm and sperm motility) and he also was taking a mens multi, zinc, & Vitamin E. All which are essential for healthy sperm. this has been the healthiest pregnancy so far and everythings been good. Here's a website you might find helpful- http://natural-fertility-info.com

I'm so sorry for your loss. I wouldn't think it's the preseed since that is used prior to fertilization (and if you don't really get EWCM, then that could have been what helped you conceive). The preseed is probably long gone by the time the egg implants, so I don't see how it could have affected it. I wouldn't think it should be a problem in the future. I hope you find success soon.

I got pregnant after trying to concieve after 9 months. We used preseed the month we got pregnant too. I have no idea if thats actually what worked or not. I am 6 weeks 5 days and so far have no complications. I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks at seen the heart beat and everything looked fine. How far along were you when you miscarried? I really don't think that its because of the preseed. Sometimes the man up above has different plans! You'll be pregnant again before you know it. Good Luck, and I'm so sorry for your loss.
