I'm sure he'll want a repeat scan in a week or two. Honestly, I'm pregnant with twins, and when we went in at 6w3d, we saw 2 sacs... one had the beginning of the baby in it w/a heartbeat and all... the other was empty. I thought baby B was not gonna make it. At 7w2days there they were! Both babies, both heartbeats!! I'm now 10w5d, and they're both doing just great! I know that b/c I am hurting w/all the pregnancy symptoms!! Good luck!

It means that it's too early to detect a true heartbeat. The first heartbeats start in just a few cells and the heart continues to grow and form for weeks. It will start off irregular and weak and will eventually get stronger and stabilize. I wouldn't be too worried, sounds like you just caught the heart right after it first started.
