Q: When to tell everyone?

DH and I miscarried in January of 2011 at 6 weeks. When I found out I was pregnant, I was so excited I announced it on Facebook, called the family, etc. A week later we miscarried.
We found out a month ago that we're expecting again :) I'm 7w5d, and have my first prenatal appointment tomorrow. I started spotting a week and 1/2 ago, and the ER did an ultrasound and said everything was fine. I was able to see peanut, as well as the heartbeat.
When do you think it is safe to tell everyone? I'm almost bursting at the seams, and it's been very hard to keep it in this long! Some people say to wait until 12 weeks, but I'm getting anxious!!

I also had mc in January of 2011 but I was 12weeks along. We told everyone we were expecting on Thanksgiving, about 7 weeks, it was hard telling everyone that we mc. (Had my parents tell everyone the sad news because I was to upset.)
This time around I only told my husband, mom, and dad (I needed to tell someone) and then waited to tell everyone else until the 1st trimester was over....it was hard but I knew it was best thing to do.

my ob said that once you hear the heartbeat, there is less than a 3% chance of miscarriage. Not when you see it, but once you've heard it. we saw our first baby's heartbeat around 5 weeks, but we lost that baby. we waited until we had heard this baby's heartbeat and we are now 35 weeks along! good luck!

I miscarried in September at around 6 weeks. I had told everyone two weeks prior because we were so excited. When I found out this time, the excitement didn't stop me. I told CLOSe family right away and everyone else a couple weeks later when nothing seemed abnormal and I'd passed that 6 week mark :) So it's really up to you! congratulations and hope everything goes wonderfully for you! <3

I have miscarried many times so I got in to the habit of telling only those really close to me when I knew I was pregnant and then at 12-13 weeks is when I told everyone else, I find it easier this way because you get some of that excitement and anxiety removed because you get to share the news a bit and then at 12-13 weeks you can be pretty much certain that things are going to stick and then get to finally tell EVERYONE! but in the end it's really your choice this is just a suggestion. sending you sticky vibes for your little one.

I m/c in october...and got pregnant at the beginning of Dec..We haven't told anybody except my Aunt and my Dad...we don't plan on telling anyone else until we find out the sex. Luckily we dont see any of them and they can't see from my belly. :) It just depends on when your heart tells you its ok. The only people you should be worried about are you, your hubby, and baby. :) Good Luck..and congrats!

After two losses, we told our parents only in the beginning and then waited until 11 weeks to tell everyone else - the OB said I was in good shape at 11 weeks so I felt comfortable spreading it then. You will know when it feels right to tell :)
