Q: How many weeks pregnant were you before you shared the news of your pregnancy with everyone?

I was just curious to find out when other ladies told everyone about their pregnancy? Was it after the first trimester, right away or somewhere in between? I have my first doctors appointment a week and a bit away..ill be 9 weeks and 3 days at that point and I might just spill the beans! It's so hard keeping it in! We basically told everyone right away with my first pregnancy but this time we have been trying to wait until the doctor confirms it and we hear a heart beat.

We both told our parents & siblings as soon as we went to the doctor to confirm everything. We wanted to wait to tell the rest of the family & friends at 12 weeks when the risk of miscarriage greatly drops. However, at the time I was teaching high school and had horribe "morning sickness" (mine lasted all day everyday) and my kids at the school knew before I told them ... before they started spreading rumors I caved and told my boss and the rest of our families before they all found out through someone else.

Though my best friend and my husbands best friend (and their spouses) were told the day we found out we kept it quiet until after our first ultrasound. We wanted to make sure everything was okay before announcing but we both wanted to vent/scream from the rooftops our news to our besties. They are basically family for us. My parents were excited and understood we waited until we were sure before we shared the news. (we had miscarriages in the past)

Hi and congrats!! Because of my work i had to tell people straight away...i mean literally at week 2-3, which i was worried about due to previous unsuccessful pregnancies, thank goodness all was ok. It's nice people knowing and asking how you are, but you miss out on having it as you and your partners little secret which i would assume is kinda nice, plus it has made pregnancy seem really long for me. But if you don't think you can wait then def shout it from the roof tops lol x

All of your comments have been super helpful..I'm glad I'm not the only one who is busting at the seems to let everyone know! I officially let my work know today since I've been feeling pretty icky and if I call in sick they just might understand a little better. Only my father and my mother in law know as of right now. I guess I will make "Facebook" public in a few weeks most likely after my doctors appointment or first ultrasound. Congrats everyone on your pregnancy! :)

I'm 6 weeks 4 days and I'll be telling my extended family this weekend, since we won't be seeing them again until Thanksgiving and I'll be way past 1st trimester by then. I don't mind my extended family knowing since we are all so close and I would want them to be there for me no matter what. We are going to request that this is all kept off of Facebook since we don't want it public knowledge yet. Other than that just my 2 best friends in the world know, who are sworn to secrecy. It's so hard to keep the secret from those you are so close to! I think it depends on who you feel safe also telling if something bad happens. Everybody does things their own way :)

I told everyone right away. I know alot of people don't recomend this, but I figured Oh well. If something terrible happened, I knew I would need support. Plus it was sooo hard to keep a secret!

I'm 9w5d and we told family and close friends already. We go back to hear the heartbeat with a doppler on Thursday and if everything sounds fine, we'll let it be public knowledge. I should warn you though, sometimes family gets so excited that they can't keep it a secret. For example: My greant aunt died a few weeks ago and I went to the wake with my dad. I was about 5 weeks pregnant. We go through the line to offer condolences to my dad's cousins (people I barely know) and one of them says "Oh!! You're the pregnant one!" I was really caught off guard and all I could say was, "I guess so!" In the car I looked at my dad and said "So what was that about, huh?!" and he sheepishly grinned and shrugged his shoulders.

I just logged on to ask the same thing! Our parents know and so do a few close friends. I'm 10 weeks and we had originally planned on waiting till 14 weeks to make the big announcement but I'm not sure. I have started to show very early and when I go back to work in a few days ( I'm off for the summer) its going to be obvious that I have packed on a few pounds in the tummy areas, lol...I'm not sure if my pride can last 4 weeks of people thinking that I'm just getting fat so I might tell work very soon

Hi there CongratS! I told people when I was nearly 11 weeks. By that time I had my dr.s appointment/bloodwork and heard heartbeat on doppler. It's my first pregnancy.
