Q: How to tell the Difference between False or Practice Labor and Real Labor pains?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant ,and keep having Braxton Hicks lots so much so when I get to the real thing I'm not sure if I will know the difference. My Husband and I were in the market ,and I had one as soon we got to the Check out counter one came on ,and I kinda dropped to the floor a second ,and everyone was staring at me. I'm never going to that market again lol

i'm sorry to say, but probably you'll feel the same thing. i looked it up b/c it was such a definite change in how i was feeling. when the baby drops it's called "lightening". look up, third trimester lightening, and see what you find out. yes, it's different for everyone but, again, marked by certain things. my little girl started dropping early - maybe b/c i was carrying low too, and also she is my first baby. i started feeling ALOT more pressure around week 32 (and noticed an increase prior to that) and by week 35, ugh. at week 32-33 the bladder pain and constant need to pee prompted me to ask my ob for a full urinalysis b/c i was convinced it HAD to be an infection, lol. it wasn't - it was just that my baby was dropping.

also, i can feel her moving her head really low down in my pelvic area and her elbows hit me off to the sides ... it kind of tickles, lol. she has had the hiccups down there and that's WEIRD! feels like she's knocking on the exit door, LOL!

i can say that i knew she'd dropped b/c there was a definite pressure increase in my pelvic area. also, i started peeing ALOT more and she puts pressure on my bladder, which is painful also. and yes, it does feel like she's about to just come out. i can feel the pressure most on my bladder, hips, tailbone, and cervix. when i get the BH contractions, the lower she gets, the more intense the pressure.

my last ob appt she's at +1 station, so getting there but there are still a few more cm to go :) sitting here at my desk right now, it feels LITERALLY like i've a bowling ball in my lab, pressing on the tops of my thighs and my belly is so low i cannot sit w/my legs together. prior to her dropping, i didn't have that problem.

/hugs.

I've been having pre-term contractions since I was 22 weeks, I'm now 26. Braxton hicks contractions make your belly really hard, but they don't hurt, they may make you feel like you can't breathe, or like heavy pressure on your lungs, but real contractions feel like really really painful menstural cramps, and generally have a consistency. If you're having either pre-term contractions or braxton hicks contractions in a consistent pattern, like 4 every 20 minutes or 8 every hour then you need to see the doctor asap. they have me on a medicine to stop the contractions and keep them less consistent.

Oh ow.. I know I've been carrying low for awhile but have not dropped yet My Husband has to pull me out of bed onto my feet lol Oh not looking forward to contractions lol but what can you do lol All I know is that being huge pregnant is uncomfortable ,and I'm going to keep being Uncomfortable till the baby is out lol My Sister and Sister in Law keep telling me it's like Menstrual Cramps times like 100 or more. I'm like thinking if they are anything like BH 0.0 lol

my mom told me the same that with her both times there was a cramping like pain that moved first in her back and then moved to her front and they came in regular intervals, like every 5 mins, every 3 mins etc. and usually will just get stronger.. false labor will subside and be irregular ..

What I am wondering.. Is.. how its going to feel when he drops because.. he is crazy low right now and head down at 27 weeks. I can feel him have hiccups in my crotch and at my pubic bone O:o so I don't know how much lower he can get without coming out. Its kind of freaking me out a lil bit.
