Q: Ultrasound says I'm not as far as I thinK?

So Friday I went in to our Obstetric Clinic to hear the baby's heart beat on the sonogram. The nurse couldn't find it so asked the doctor to do an ultrasound. The doctor did an ultrasound on my stomach and through the vagina, and still had a hard time. They sent me to radiology to get a ultrasound tech to conduct a full course of measurements and what not through ultrasound. So after the tech did 2 stomach ultrasound and 1 through the vagina, I met back with the doctor which infomed me that I was not 11wks 2 days pregnant, I was 8wks 1 day pregnant....

This doesn't make sense to us, I haven't had a period since March 30th, I ovulated the week of April 10-16th. I did a pregnancy test on April 22nd and it was positive. Now if I were to take the 8wks pregnant thing into consideration it would mean i would of had to conceived on April 21st, which doesnt make sense right?!?!?

Has this happened to anyone else before?!?? :(

It sounds like there's a possibility that you had a chemical pregnancy, missed a period because of that, and then conceived the next month, IMO. A positive test 4/22 would have been no more than 12 DPO, which is still fairly early for accurate results. I will KMFX that this is not indicative of something more serious, because even for 8 weeks, it does seem that they had quite a bit of difficulty in finding your pregnancy.

I also think it would be a longshot, but who knows!!! Although they do say it takes several days for implantation to occur before significant amounts of hcg are produced. A friend of mine was put back by 2 weeks and it turned out that she was right and not the doctors!

Don't necessarily ignore the doctors, but at the same time don't ignore your instinct, nobody knows your body better than you, and hopefully by your next ultrasound the fog will have lifted. Good luck x
