I had my first ultrasound at 7w5d. We were able to both see and hear the heartbeat at that appointment.

I had my first ultrasound at 5w2d, so right about where you are. We saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac, but NO fetal pole (no baby) and no heartbeat. My HCG was around 25,000 (!!) at that point.
BUT, BUT! Exactly 1 week later I had a follow up ultrasound and saw the baby and heartbeat. I am now 9w3d and everything is going well.
So prepare yourself to not see the baby or heartbeat just yet. You should see the gestational sac and yolk sac though (if you have your last period dates correct, anyway), which will confirm it is not ectopic.
It is still very early though, so I second what kaylia2oo5 said - don't get too worried if you don't see much. Good luck!

I had mine at 6+2 because I had brown discharge/spotting ... saw gestational sac but no baby or heart beat (it was external scan)..Then 8+2 we saw the baby and the heartbeat...They measured him exactly 8+2 days . But the second scan was internal....Although I think 6 weeks is very early and only the lucky one will see the heartbeat and the baby.

From what I've heard and experienced personally, the earliest a heartbeat can be detected is during your 6th week and that usually through a vaginal ultrasound. But, like the ladies before me said, every pregnancy is different; just because they don't detect one in your 6th week doesn't mean you wont find one in your 7th or even 8th week. I've noticed with vaginal ultrasounds, they tend to be able to see more detailed than with abdominal. And as far as your levels for being in your fifth week that's very good I was only 150 in my fifth week and I'm 38 weeks PG lol

My hcg levels were over 73,000 at 5w5d. I got my first u/s at 6w3d and saw the baby and heartbeat (two little chambers flickering). Only the sacs were visible via the abdominal, so she did a vaginal u/s and there it was. Good luck!

I had my first ultrasound at 6w2d and we were able to see the baby as well as the heartbeat flickering. I'm not sure of what my HCG levels were at that time though. Every pregnancy is different though- some ladies haven't seen baby or heatbeat that early, some have seen it a few days earlier than me. If you don't see anything, I wouldn't be alarmed, as everyone is different- especially if you're off on your dates, even by a few days! Best of luck :)
