I took 4 pregnancy tests, first 2 were really really dark both lines, 3rd the hormone line was darker than the urine line, and the 4th came out looking normal lol, it depends but up until the 4th test I was thinking twins as well, turns out I'm carrying a singleton. I agree, only way to find out is through that first ultrasound visit!

I had a dark positive line, in the evening about 4 days before AF. I am carrying a singleton. Try not to get excited before seeing an ultrasound. I also have twins in the family.

My father is a fraternal twin, and yea I know the only way to find out is through an ultrasound lol. Was just a little curious because this has never happened to me

A dark line does indicate a higher level of hcg, but you won't know about twins for sure until you get an ultrasound. As far as twins running in the family, depends on if your father is an identical twin or fraternal twin. Identical twins are a genetic anomaly and can happen to anyone (does not run in the family). It means the woman ovulated one egg and that egg randomly split into two. Fraternal twins means the woman ovulated two eggs at once and both were fertilized. That trait can be passed down in the family.
