Q: New Mummy to be, excited but scared. HELP!

Both myself and DH are 28. This is our first baby and I found out 2 days ago, so everything is sooo brand new and scary to me.

I have booked my first appointment with the doctor which is on Monday 21st.

But what i really wanted to know is, is it ok to have aches and pains, and pinches/pulls and cramping? i guess my body is adjusting right??? any advice for the first few weeks would be helpful !

I agree with askpletch - cramping and pulling is totally normal - I am only 4 weeks but i've already had this on and off and i had it throughout my first trimester of my first pregnancy too :) Emotional rollercoaster it certainly is :) Best wishes for a healthy and stressfree (well - apart from all the normal stresses us mummies have :) ! ) pregnancy!

Thanks for your response! I used to get horrendous period pain, so the cramping and pulling i'm having is not as bad as that and its higher up than period cramping, so i thought it might be ok and nothing to worry about...... but such an emotional rollercoaster already ! wow!

You will have LOTS of aches and pain and pinches and pulling for the next several weeks. If you have any severe pain, call a doctor right away, but all the other cramps and achyness is to be expected. I am 7 weeks, and I have had lots of ovary pain and cramping.
