Q: Lactating after miscarriage

Ended up having a miscarriage at 14 weeks pregnant on 11-8-11 :( Doctor said I had been in labor for 3 days prior to mt water breaking one night around 3am. They had to actually deliver the baby and the next day had to do a D&C to remove the placenta as it did not want to come out on its own. About 2 days after I was released from the hospital, I started lactating. Why is this? And when will it stop?

I'm so sorry about the miscarriage... go to your dr. and ask for parlodell it is often used to stop lactation. After the birth of my daughter I was on it for another reason and my milk didn't come in...

First I want to say I'm thinking of you and praying for you, I have been in your shoes and it is very hard. I had the same thing happen to me. I was just over 20 weeks and went through labor as well. I started lactating about a week after. It broke my heart. I was not expecting it either. Mine went away after about a week and a half.
