Q: Have you had high HCG and were only having one baby?

My doctor thinks I may be having twins since my HCG was at 1400 at 5 weeks. Has anyone had HCG this high and it was only one baby? Twins would be nice but right now even one more baby is a stretch :/

PS: I do have an ultrasound tomorrow I'm just hoping I can get some ideas on what to expect as to number of babies...

Am surprised your Doctor said that as it's no indication at all for twins! I had mine over 70,000 at that time also and I am only having one. I also had so many people telling me as I had severe morning sickness that I was having twins...not true....best of luck and don't believe what they tell you! :)

Yes, mine was over 73,000 at 5 weeks, and we're having one. I wouldn't read into that at all.

My HCG at 51/2 weeks was 7000 and I only had one baby. Only an ultrasound will be able to tell you for sure. GL.

Hcg is a terrible indicator of number of babies. Mine was higher than that and there's only one in there.
