Q: How many weeks were you when you found out the gender? Were you showing?

Hello everyone!
I was just wondering how far along everyone actually was when they found out the gender of their baby and if you were showing or not? Did anyone get a 3D or 4D ultrasound at 16 weeks to find out early?

at 15 weeks 5 days I went to have a gender scan and they said girl, they did the gender determination using the old 2d ultrasound and then clicked it over for my 3d scan to see my cute bubba. I think its actually more accurate to see the gender using the 2d. Anyway so yes I was 15 weeks 5 days they said girl and my baby girl was just born a week ago :) No i was not showing at the time of the scan :)

At 15 weeks. You don't need a 3d or 4d scan to find out the gender of your baby. I have been told by my midwife that a regular 2d works as well as the other two. So there is no reason to pay for 3d to find out the gender.

I was 16 weeks when I found out I was having a little boy and I was definitely showing a little, not so much that people who didn't know me could tell I was pregnant but my close friends and family knew it was all baby. My ultrasound wasn't a fancy one, just a regular 2D scan that's black and white. As long as the baby spreads their legs, they can tell.

I had the 4D done at 16 weeks. The 4D bit wasn't very good but finding out the sex was worth it! I was showing in my head but not sure anyone else noticed lol!

Had to wait until 21 weeks. Baby didn't cooperate in earlier scan (18 weeks). She threatened not to let us see at 21 weeks but right at the end she revealed. We've lucked out in being able to confirm it 3 times since as I am high-risk and get many scans.

At the 21 week scan when we first found out we were happy but both very unsure how much to trust it. Didn't want to let ourselves get excited to have it change. The ultrasound tech and doctors kept saying nothing is positive until baby arrives so we couldn't figure out how sure it was!

That said, my understanding is that the later the scan for gender reveal the more likely it is accurate. I've noticed a HUGE difference when they show us from 21 weeks to other 3, especially the last one at 30 weeks. I myself feel I could now accuraely say what baby is whereas at 21 weeks I was like ok if you say so...it all looked like shades of grey then and I couldn't really tell anything apart!!

I found out at 20 weeks I was having a boy. I wanted a 3D scan then, but my friend got one at 18 weeks and you couldn't see much because the baby was still so skinny and small. So i decided to wait until around 30 weeks to get the 3D scan. He wont be so crowded then either like he will at 36 weeks. I'm 29 weeks now so I should probably hop on that :P

I was a day short of 20 weeks when I found out my baby's gender. I had considered getting a 3d ultrasound before that, but the clinic I found requires the anatomy scan to be completed first. So I waited. Then when I was at the anatomy scan (gender ultrasound) I found out that doing a 3d that early is not a great idea because you really don't get as much detail and as great a picture than if you wait a few weeks. Once the baby starts putting on a lot of fat, the images are much better. The tech told me it's best to go between 30-34 weeks for a 3d because you get the best pictures. As it turns out, mine is this afternoon and I'm 32 weeks. We're very excited! Good luck!
Oh, and yes, I was showing by my 20 week u/s, but this is my 3rd baby and I gained a bit of weight in my first trimester.
