I was 8 months... out of the danger zone in case she came early. :) Plus you want to give yourself enough time to buy what you didn't receive.

I'm due May 12th, and my showers are March 24th (33 weeks) & April 13th (35 weeks). Mine are all on the late side, but I'm just so excited that people were willing to throw them for me that I don't really care how late they are!

I think at least halfway, closer to 6-7 months is probably ideal. I will be 27 weeks at mine on June 1 so almost 7 months. It depends on the person and family really.

I had mine in October, our son was born in November (early). I would say have it at least at your 30-32 week mark so that you have everything you need before the baby comes. We didn't think I would go in to labor early, but I did....and was thankful to have what we needed.

I'm having mine at 30 weeks so I have more than enough time to get the things that I don't get at the baby shower that we still need.

Sometime in your third trimester is what most people do.

I think it should be whenever it works for you and your family and friends. With my daughter I had my first shower in May and the second in June ( I was due at the end of July). I did however start getting the furniture for the baby's room around six months (my parents, my husband's parents, and us all bought one piece just in case we needed it earlier :) ).
