Some things I have heard work: Nipple stimulation (breast pump, standing in a hot shower, or stimulating your nipples like youâ??re winding a watch - releases oxytocin), semen (deposited near the cervix), red raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil... Be sure to get your dr;s okay before trying the herbs though just to be on the safe side.

I know I just need to be patient. I have an appointment at the hospital today for a non stress test and to check my amniotic fluid and an appointment with my OB on Wednesday. She'll probably end up inducing me before 40 weeks as it is since my amniotic fluid is slightly low and baby has a 2 vessel cord. I don't really want a medical induction which is why I'm hoping baby will make an appearance before then.

Do NOT try castor oil without talking to your doctor!! It basically gives you diarrhea and the thought is the bowels contracting causes the uterus to contract. Does that sound at all pleasant? Diarrhea AND labor?! Spicy food works in a similar way but won't cause diarrhea, you could try that. You can also ask your doctor about stimulating your nipples but you have to be careful here, too. It only works if your cervix has started to thin and it can causes your contractions to become too strong if you get carried away. I've heard it work for women but I would be hesitant to try it myself. Hang in there :) Baby will come when baby is good and ready!

No thanks. I've heard some terrible things about castor oil. I think I'll avoid that. I'm impatient but not going to risk my baby's health.

Some people us castor oil to induce labor. If you're that desperate to have a baby, then it might be worth a try.

You went to Mountain Mikes? You must live really close to me. How funny! I know it must be frustrating to have on and off symptoms like that, but I still think you're really close!
