Q: Need advice from someone who has or is pregnant with twins!!

Twins run in my husbands family and I found out that I release more than one egg during ovulation. So, I have posted a picture on my profile that shows my belly over the last three days (August 4, 5, and 6th). Can I just hear some opinions or maybe even tell me if you had any weird "multiple symptoms"?

Redrouge is correct. Identical twins are just a chance of nature. Fraternal twins can be genetic, however, it is passed down from the maternal side, so your husband's family history has no bearing on whether you have twins or not. I have a strong family history (on my mother's side) of fraternal twins, so my OB said I would always need to be "double checked" during the first trimester to see if I am carrying two. They thought with my last pregnancy that there may have been two in there due to my extreme morning sickness and through the roof HCG levels, but I was blessed with just the one. :)

I have been having to unbotton the pants when I sit down too! Haha, but yeah, could be bloating. As long as the baby(ies) are healthy I am more than sissified with having single or multiples.

My best friend had twins and her husband was out of the country for a good part of the first trimester so I was with her a lot! She didn't have any morning sickness (lucky, right?) She didn't start showing until her husband was back so around week 13 or 14 so I tend to agree with kelliers that it is probably bloating. At least you don't have to wait too much longer to see if there are one or two in there!

I barely have any symptoms and i'm 9 weeks with fraternal twins. My boobs are big, but no MS or nausea. My pants started getting snug at around 7 weeks to be honest. I find myself unbuttoning the top button when i sit down. I'm 5'8 and (was) 133. So sorta thin. I have noticed heartburn these past 2 nights, along with getting up to pee. Mainly bc I've been chugging water constantly though.

im 23 weeks preg with twins and i have been told that its nothing to do with ure husbands side it all on ure mothers side.but of course u can still have twins even if its not in family.if u hyperovulate that how u have non idendical twins(like me and my grandmother) and identical twins are just by chance.i knew from start i was preg on twins due to extream symptons which i never experienced on my first 2.and had sicknrss every single morning to this day.my hpt was so positive the day before my period was due and i normally have a really faint line so this for me was a dead giveaway.i had a scan at 9 weeks and twins were not detected.only detected at 15 weeks.everyone thought i was crazy.but i just knew.maybe ure right.twins are so exciting.im lovin been preg on twins.keep me posted would love to hear the out come.

Lots of sickness can be an indicator but some women get really sick with one. I had a firm belly even when bloated because I was also very thin. It went down around 9-10 weeks and then came back as a real bump around 13-14 (though strangers couldn't tell, just thought I ate too much probably). Even being tiny I am 19 weeks and just starting to look pregnant. If you have twins you will probably really start to show around 14-15 weeks but will probably need more comfy pants around 10-12. Everyone is different though, but right now even with twins your uterus hasn't grown much. At 4-5 weeks I was hyperstimulated from fertility treatments so my ovaries were both bigger than my uterus. Even with three uterus sized things in my abdomen and 8 lbs of extra fluid (talk about painful...) the bulging was still just bloat. Baby (babies?) is smaller than a pea still :). One more week, though, and you'll get to know for sure!!!

Oh i've been puking like a dog! lol, see and every one says it would be too early to show, however, my stomach isn't feeling bloated, I was also underweight when I found out I was pregnant....I find out the HCG level today and my doctor told me we might have an indication there....lol the doctor actually said, "We will see how many are in there on the 15th!" haha, oh boy!

Even for twins 4-5 weeks is too early to show. I imagine your feeling the lovely side effect of high progesterone-bloating. When is your first scan? Many twin and singleton symptoms overlap or are similar because some people are very sensitive to hcg and some aren't. How is your morning sickness, if you have any yet?
