Q: Am I expecting twins? Pls see scan pic!

Hi all.

I would really appreciate your help to see whether you think I am expecting twins. I am 4 weeks and 4 days and had my early scan yesterday. The doctor just said that it is an early pregnancy and nothing else. This morning I took a closer look at the scan and could see 2 beans. I'm wondering if it could be twins?? Twins run in our family, my grandma had 4 sets of a twins herself!

Please have a look and let me know what you think or if it looks similar to yours who are definitely pregnant with twins.

Thank you!!! xxx

I see what you are talking about. That lil circle inside the sac is the yolk sac!

Ok, I saw the image. I only see one embryo. I could be wrong, but what you are probably thinking is a second embryo is the yolk sac.

Thank you all! I thought the doc would have said. I am currently in Ghana but from London. The system is a bit different here and the doc didn't study the scan just noticed it was too early a pregnancy for me to be passed to the maternity section.

Thanks again! I'm just happy to pregnant regardless.

Xxx

I looked again and see what you're saying, but I have no idea. They would have told you if they noticed anything like a possibility of twins.

I was unable to see the scan, however, a doctor would tell you if you were having twins. If there are two embryos in one gestational sac, they are identical and heredity goes out the window. Only fraternal twins have a genetic component; identical twins happen by chance. Also, if the doctor thought you were having two within one sac he would def mention it because that is a high risk pregnancy situation.

Thanks Petitechaton! Not sure if I'm being overly optimistic but I can see two beans inside one gestational sac. I may be wrong! I am back in 4 weeks for another scan as it would be more clearer.

It looks like one to me. I think they would have told you if they thought there were two.

Hi, I don't see twins, but I'm not an expert... looks like 1 gestational sac to me :) They should have told you when you had your scan. Let us know.
