Q: I have mastitis :'(

Has anyone else had a clogged milk duct during pregnancy that turned into mastitis? It is very painful. I breastfed both my children for 18 months and never got it. Now I am about 6 weeks away from delivery with it. I guess it's better to have it now instead of when baby is here. Waaaaaa! It really hurts!

Thanks ladies!!!! I am doing warm compresses and massage. I am also taking tylenol for pain. I decided not to.take antibiotics just yet. OB said if it's not gone by Friday, she will call me in a script. I am sorry to those who are going through the same thing. Hope you all feel better soon. :)

I used to put cold cabbage leaves down my bra, sounds odd but really did relieve some of the pain. (One of my mums tips, she breastfed 7 bubbas). Hope it gets better soon :(

I'm sorry your in so much pain, but yes better to have it now than after. Did they say whether you can do hot and cold compresses? I'd think it would help relieve the pain.
