Q: HCG Levels

Just recently found out I was pregnant 8/7/14 with my 3rd and I had irregular periods and had just stopped BC back in April. According to what I assume was my period ( I had spotting daily for almost 2wks then it got heavier that's when I considered it to be a period) July 19th the due date apps and everything has been saying 3 week today. I took clear blue digital week estimator (estimate week since ovulation) oon 8/7/14 and it read PREGNANT 1-2 which would translate to 3-4weeks since LMP. I had my HCG levels drawn on 8/8/14 because I work in a doctor office and the results came back this morning of 89.7. According to their ranges I'm 2-3wks. I'm not sure how to estimate which is correctaalthough I'm assuming I'm close to 3 week if not already. But I've seen that some people have this number range and are considered 4-5weeks. I'm in the process of getting insurance so until then I'll be checking levels through my work. Any advice?

The doc will go by your last period, until you have an early ultrasound done, and if the ultrasound gives the same gestational age (give or take 3 or 4 days) they'll probably stick to that date. According to both the HCG level for me and baby's measurements, I should be 25 weeks, but they are still going by the date of my last period which puts me at 24 weeks 2 days today. As far as the pregnancy test weeks estimator, it is an estimate, so your doctor's office saying 2-3 weeks and the home test saying 3-4 really isn't much different. You are still roughly 3 weeks and it will likely vary throughout the pregnancy. It's pretty hard to say exactly how far along you are even when you know roughly the time of ovulation because OPK's and temping only detect the LH surge so ovulation could vary by a day or two. Sorry for the story I'm getting offtopic & rambling lol! Either way I wouldn't worry much about it & best of luck & most of all congrats!! =)
