Thanks for all the great replies and encouragement. I just got back after a long day and my ultrasound went great. everything looks good and healthy and the baby has a heartbeat of 171 bpm! I'm pretty excited and hope that everything stays good :) Also good luck to everyone else who is anxiously awaiting their ultrasounds :)

I know how you feel. With my first pregnancy I had a routine 12 week U/S done and found that the baby had a "defect incompatible with life" and the pregnancy had to be terminated. It was awful. I will never go to an U/S by myself and am also terrified of going to my US - it's in 2 weeks. I hope tomorrow is a wonderful day and the U/S goes well!!!

In September 2004 I had my first ultrasound at 12 weeks only to find the baby had died at 8 weeks. They called it a partial-molar pregnancy and I had to have a D&C a week later. Only 6 months after my D&C I became pregnant again. My son just turned 6 a few days ago:) Best wishes to you. I hope your ultrasound goes well!!

Wow...I can only partially imagine what you've been through. Our first baby had a healthy, perfect looking u/s at 6w1d last February, where we were even able to see the heartbeat. I went back in for the 8 week ultrasound and the baby had died and we didn't even know it. Had to take some meds to force miscarriage because she (I'm still convinced it was a girl) had died shortly after the first appointment and I didn't want a d&c. The meds and I interacted poorly and I ended up in the ER that night for a d&c anyway. It was detrimental. We continued to try to get pregnant, and in August, it worked! Everything has been right on track since day 1. Hopefully this first u/s will give you some peace!
